There are four ways to get festival posters for your business: design them yourself in Canva, use a festival poster app, pay a designer or agency, or have them made for you each week from your own brand kit. Apps cost the least, Canva needs your time, and agencies cost the most. Whatever you pick, a festival post works when it carries your logo, a readable number, one clear offer, your own photos and your customers' language, in 9:16 for WhatsApp Status.
Every Diwali, Navratri and Sankranti, the same thing happens in thousands of shops. Late on the night before the festival, someone opens an app, picks a greeting, adds the logo and sends it to the family group for approval. The post goes up the next morning, at the same moment as everyone else's.
This guide compares the four ways Indian businesses get festival posters made, with prices we could check today, and then lists what a festival post needs to bring in enquiries. For the dates and lead times, see our festival marketing calendar for India.
The four options at a glance
| Option | What it costs (checked 28 Oct 2026) | Your time per festival | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canva | Free tier; Pro ₹499 to ₹500 a month or ₹3,999 to ₹4,000 a year on the iOS App Store in India | 30 to 90 minutes per design if you design it yourself | Strong templates you edit yourself |
| Festival poster app | Brands.live: ₹199 to ₹4,499 in in-app plans; Festival Post: ₹499 to ₹2,599 | 5 to 10 minutes | A ready template with your logo and number added |
| Designer or agency | Agency-published starter packages from about ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 a month for 8 to 12 posts | Briefing and review | Custom designs, timing depends on their workload |
| Creative Bee | See Creative Bee pricing | Approve on WhatsApp, then forward | Weekly and festival posts made with your own photos and offers |
Time estimates are our own rough guide, not measured figures. App and Canva prices are from Apple's App Store listings for India; prices on the web or Google Play can differ, so check before you pay.
Option 1: Canva
Canva is a design tool. You start from a template, change the text, add your photos and download the file.
Price. Canva's App Store listing for India shows in-app purchases for Canva Pro at ₹499 to ₹500 a month and ₹3,999 to ₹4,000 a year, and Canva Business at ₹650 to ₹679 a month or ₹6,800 a year. The app itself is free to download. We couldn't open Canva's own pricing page today, so check it for the current web price.
Good for:
- businesses with someone who enjoys design and has time before each festival;
- one-off posters, menus, banners and invitations as well as social posts.
Watch out for:
- the work is yours every time. A template still needs your offer, photo, number and language added, then checked;
- festival weeks are the busiest weeks for most shops, which is when the design job tends to slip.
Canva suits you if you, or someone on your team, will actually sit down and design every week.
Option 2: festival poster apps
Poster apps are built for this exact job. You set up a business profile once, pick a festival template, and the app adds your logo and contact details. Then you share it straight to WhatsApp.
Price. On the App Store in India, Brands.live (by Credapp Software) lists monthly plans at ₹199 to ₹499 and annual plans from ₹2,999 to ₹4,499. Festival Post: Business Maker lists plans from ₹499 for a year up to ₹2,599 for two years. Many other apps work the same way.
Good for:
- a quick greeting on the festival morning;
- businesses that only want greetings, not offers.
Watch out for:
- the template is the same one every other subscriber in your town can use;
- the post usually has no photo of your shop, your products or your work;
- offers, prices and dates are yours to type in, and many owners skip that step, so the post becomes a greeting with a logo.
Option 3: a designer or a small agency
A freelance designer or local agency makes custom designs from your brief.
Price. These are published by agencies themselves, so treat them as a guide, not a market survey:
- upGrowth puts basic packages at ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 a month for 8 to 12 posts across one or two platforms (February 2026).
- Sociolabs lists a starter plan from ₹15,000 a month for 12 to 16 posts.
Good for:
- brands that need a distinct look across print, social and the shop;
- larger teams that want someone else to plan, write and design.
Watch out for:
- festival season is the busiest time for designers, so posts can arrive late;
- you still need to send photos, offers and approvals, so plan your briefs early.
Option 4: Creative Bee
Creative Bee is the BeeCMO bee that makes your festival and weekly posts for you. You set up a brand kit once: your logo, colours, number and offers. You send shop or product photos on WhatsApp whenever you take them. The designs are made with your own photos and offers.
What you get each month:
- 20 designs, mixing weekly sets and festival packs;
- each design in 9:16 for WhatsApp Status, plus 1:1 and 4:5 for Instagram and Facebook;
- English, Hindi or Gujarati, up to 2 languages per business;
- festival packs 3 days before the festival, so you can approve and post on the day;
- 2 change rounds per design, asked for on WhatsApp.
What it doesn't do: it doesn't post to your WhatsApp Status. No app can, because WhatsApp offers no way to do it. You approve the set on WhatsApp, the files arrive on WhatsApp, and you forward them to your Status.
See festival posts made for you by Creative Bee for how it works, and the Creative Bee price page for the current price.
What makes a festival post work
Whichever option you use, check every festival post against this list before it goes out.
1. Your logo, small and clear
Put it in one corner, the same corner every time. Customers should know it's you before they read a word.
2. Your number, typed large
- Use the number customers actually call or WhatsApp.
- Make it big enough to read on a small phone without zooming.
- Type it in as real text in the design, not as part of an AI-drawn picture, and check every digit before posting.
3. One offer, with an end date
Offers bring enquiries. Give one offer per post, with the price or discount and the last date: "Diwali gift boxes from ₹499, order by 5 November". If the post shows a "was" price, it should be a price you really charged.
4. Your own photos
A photo of your shop, your team, your products or your finished work tells the customer what they are buying. A diya on a plain background says Happy Diwali, but it doesn't say what you sell or why they should come to you.
5. Your customers' language
Write in the language your customers speak at the counter. Many businesses do well with a bilingual post: the greeting in Hindi or Gujarati and the offer in English, or the other way round. Have someone who reads the language check the spelling once, especially your shop name.
6. The right size: 9:16 for Status
WhatsApp Status, Instagram Stories and Reels are full-screen vertical (9:16). Meta's ads guide for Instagram Stories asks for a 9:16 image and suggests leaving about 14% of the top, 35% of the bottom and 6% of each side free of text, so profile icons and buttons don't cover it. Ads in WhatsApp Status also use 9:16. For the Instagram and Facebook feed, make a 4:5 or 1:1 version.
7. Festival symbols, not deities next to prices
Diyas, rangoli, kites, lanterns and stars say the festival clearly. Many customers don't like a god's image placed beside a discount, so keep greetings and offers on separate designs.
8. On time
- Post festival offers 3 to 7 days before the day, while people are still deciding where to buy.
- Post greetings on the evening before or the morning of the festival.
- A Status disappears after 24 hours, so an evening-before greeting covers the festival day too.
Our festival WhatsApp campaign checklist covers the broadcast side: opt-ins, templates and message costs.
Which option fits your business
Illustrative examples, not customer results.
- A saree shop in Ahmedabad that wants Gujarati greetings and English offers every week, with photos of new stock: a done-for-you option such as Creative Bee, or an agency if budget allows.
- A sweet shop in Indore that needs a Diwali gift-box poster with prices and an order-by date: any option works, as long as the box photo, prices and date are on it.
- A coaching institute in Jaipur with an in-house team member who designs: Canva is a good fit.
- A jeweller in Surat posting only a greeting on Dhanteras morning: a poster app does that job, though an offer post with your own designs brings more enquiries than a greeting alone.
Mistakes to avoid
- Posting the night before, at the same time as every other shop in town.
- A greeting with no offer, no photo and no reason to call.
- A phone number too small to read, or one that's wrong.
- Text in the bottom third of a Status image, where buttons and reply bars cover it.
- Firecracker images where your state or city restricts them. Check local rules first.
- Claims you can't back up: "No.1 in the city", "lowest price".
What is the best festival poster app for business?
There isn't one best app. Poster apps such as Brands.live are cheap and quick for greetings, but the templates are shared with every subscriber. If you want offers and your own photos on each post, use Canva yourself, hire a designer, or use a done-for-you service such as Creative Bee.
How much does Canva Pro cost in India?
Canva's iOS App Store listing for India shows Canva Pro at ₹499 to ₹500 a month or ₹3,999 to ₹4,000 a year, checked 28 October 2026. There is also a free tier. Check Canva's site for the current web price.
What size should a festival poster be for WhatsApp Status?
Vertical 9:16, for example 1080 × 1920 pixels. Keep your text, logo and number away from the top and bottom edges so WhatsApp's buttons don't cover them.
Can Creative Bee post my festival poster to WhatsApp Status?
No. WhatsApp doesn't let any app post to Status. Creative Bee sends the approved files to you on WhatsApp, and you forward them to your Status.
When should I post a festival poster?
Offers work best 3 to 7 days before the festival. Greetings work best on the evening before or the morning of the festival, since a Status stays up for 24 hours.
