A good weekly marketing report fits on one page and answers three questions: did we get more enquiries than last week, which channel brought them, and what needs a decision. Track about ten numbers from Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, your Google Business Profile, WhatsApp and Meta Ads Manager, compare each with last week, and end with two or three actions. A copyable template is below.
Why a one-page weekly report works
Most marketing reports are too long. Owners of a jewellery showroom, a coaching institute or a clinic chain don't have time for 20 slides on reach. What they need each Monday is:
- Are enquiries up or down?
- Where did they come from?
- Is money being wasted anywhere?
- What do I need to approve or decide?
A one-page weekly report answers those in five minutes. A monthly or year-end report can go deeper. If you run an agency, our agency client report template covers the longer monthly version.
The 10 numbers worth tracking each week
Pick the ones that apply. A B2B manufacturer may not run Meta ads; a salon may not need Search Console every week.
| # | Number | Where to find it | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | New enquiries (all channels) | Your CRM, WhatsApp inbox, call log | The number the owner cares about most |
| 2 | Enquiries by source | Same, tagged by source | Shows which channel is working |
| 3 | Calls from Google profile | Google Business Profile, Performance | Taps on the call button |
| 4 | Direction requests | Google Business Profile, Performance | Walk-in intent for shops and clinics |
| 5 | Website clicks from Google profile | Google Business Profile, Performance | Profile visitors who wanted more detail |
| 6 | New reviews and average rating | Google Business Profile | Trust, and replies owed |
| 7 | Search clicks and impressions | Google Search Console, Performance | Organic visibility |
| 8 | Website sessions and key events | Google Analytics 4 | Form fills, WhatsApp clicks, calls from the site |
| 9 | WhatsApp messages sent, delivered, read | WhatsApp Manager | Broadcast reach and reading rate |
| 10 | Ad spend, results and cost per result | Meta Ads Manager | Is the money turning into leads? |
Where each number comes from
Google Search Console
- The Performance report shows clicks, impressions, CTR and average position (Google).
- Data normally appears within 2 to 3 days, and the newest days can be preliminary (Google). Report on the week ending last Thursday or Friday, not yesterday.
- Search Console keeps 16 months of data (Google Analytics Help). Export it if you want year-on-year comparisons later.
- For the weekly report, note total clicks, then the one page or query that moved most. Pages losing clicks over several weeks are candidates for a content refresh using Search Console.
Google Analytics 4
- Track sessions and key events. Google defines a key event as an event that measures an action particularly important to your business (Google). Key events replaced what GA4 used to call conversions.
- Mark the actions that mean a lead: form submitted, WhatsApp button clicked, phone number tapped, booking completed.
- Report key events by channel (organic search, paid, social, direct, referral).
Google Business Profile
Google's Performance view shows (Google):
- Calls: taps on the call button on your profile.
- Directions: people who asked for directions.
- Website clicks: taps on your website link.
- Messages and bookings, where you use them.
- Views: people who viewed your profile on Search and Maps.
- Searches: the terms people used to find you. Google updates this at the start of each month, and it can take up to 5 days.
Performance data is only available for verified profiles, and only metrics that apply to your business appear. Because the searches metric is monthly, leave it for the monthly report.
- In WhatsApp Manager, Meta shows sent, delivered and read counts for templates and phone numbers, plus link clicks and spend for marketing messages (Meta).
- For the owner, the useful numbers are: broadcasts sent, read rate, replies, and how many replies became enquiries.
- Add your approximate message spend. Our guide to WhatsApp Business API pricing in India explains the per-message rates.
Meta Ads Manager
- Report amount spent, results (leads, conversations or purchases, depending on the objective) and cost per result for the week.
- Add one line on whether spend stayed inside your cap. Meta can spend more than a daily budget on some days. Our Meta ads budget guardrails explain the rules.

9. NEXT WEEK
Festival or sale coming up: ________
One thing we will try: ________
Illustrative example: a sweet shop in Indore
Illustrative example. The headline reads: "Enquiries 64 (last week 51, up 25%). Best source: Google profile calls." Section 8 asks the owner to approve a Diwali gift-box broadcast and a ₹5,000 boost on the best Instagram post. The owner reads it in three minutes and replies "yes to both".
How to read the report without overreacting
- Compare with last week and the same week last month. Festivals, exams and month-end payroll swing Indian demand. A drop the week after Diwali is normal.
- Flag only big changes. A 5% move is usually noise. Look into anything that moves by a third or more.
- Separate outcomes from activity. "12 posts published" is activity. "9 enquiries from Instagram" is an outcome.
- One owner action per problem. If reviews dropped, the action is "send review requests to this week's customers", not "improve reputation".
- Never let anyone round numbers up. If a number came from a guess, label it.
Who should prepare it
- Owner-run business: 20 minutes every Monday with the five tools open.
- Manager or marketing executive: they prepare it, the owner reads and decides.
- Agency: a short WhatsApp version weekly, the full report monthly.
- Automated: a tool that pulls the numbers from your accounts, with a human checking the decisions section.
How BeeCMO helps
- The weekly briefing comes with every BeeCMO plan. Every Monday (or a day you choose), at 9 AM your time, it sends one message on WhatsApp, SMS, email or Telegram.
- It shows this week against last week in a table, what the AI did, items waiting for your approval with approve and reject links, alerts, and upcoming holidays and sale days.
- The numbers come from your connected data: Search Console, GA4, ad spend, leads, WhatsApp messages, reviews and posts. Any AI sentence with a number that isn't in your data is cut before it's sent.
- Daily, it flags changes that are both large (40% or more) and statistically unusual against the previous 14 days.

FAQ
What should be in a weekly marketing report?
New enquiries and their sources first, then a few channel numbers: Google profile calls and directions, Search Console clicks, GA4 key events, WhatsApp read rates, and Meta ad spend with cost per result. End with up to three decisions for the owner.
How long should a weekly marketing report be?
One page, or one WhatsApp message. Weekly reports are for spotting changes and making decisions. Save trends and deeper analysis for the monthly report.
Why does Search Console data lag in my weekly report?
Google says Search Console data is normally available within 2 to 3 days, and the newest days can be preliminary. Report on a week that ended a few days earlier so the numbers don't change after you send them.
Which Google Business Profile metrics should I track weekly?
Calls, direction requests and website clicks, plus new reviews and your rating. Google updates the searches metric monthly, so keep it for the monthly report.
Can a weekly marketing report be automated?
Yes, the numbers can be pulled automatically from Search Console, GA4, Google Business Profile, WhatsApp and Meta. Keep a human check on the summary and decisions, and make sure every number comes from the data, not an AI's guess.
