New Year posts for your business: ideas, timing and sizes for 2027
Two posts do most of the work: an offer before, a wish on the day.
New Year's Day 2027 is a Friday, a week after Christmas on Friday 25 December 2026. Customers look at year-end offers in the days between the two, and on 31 December they want to know whether you're open. This page covers when to post, ideas for different kinds of business, the sizes to use, and wishes in three languages.

Ideas by business
- Shops. A year-end clearance on last season's stock, with the price and the last date in the post.
- Gyms, yoga studios and coaching classes. A January joining offer or a batch start date. Coaching classes shouldn't promise results or selections; the consumer protection guidelines for coaching ads (2024) don't allow it.
- Restaurants and cafes. Your 31 December menu, party booking details and timings. If you serve alcohol, check your state's rules on promoting it before you post.
- Salons. Party-look packages for the 31st, with the slots left.
- Clinics. A short health tip for the new year and your holiday timings. No offers built on patient stories.
- Any business. A thank-you post with something true from your year, such as a new branch or a new service.
Sizes
- WhatsApp Status and Instagram Stories: 9:16, 1080 × 1920 px. Keep text out of the top 14% and the bottom 20%.
- Instagram and Facebook feed: 4:5, 1080 × 1350 px, or square 1080 × 1080 px.

Should I post on Christmas too?
If your customers celebrate it, or you run a cafe, bakery or shop with a Christmas offer, yes. Christmas 2026 is on Friday 25 December, a week before New Year.
What size is a New Year Status image?
9:16, which is 1080 × 1920 pixels. Keep your number and text in the middle, away from the top and bottom.
