Facebook Ads Cost in India (2026): Per Day, Per Lead

By BeeCMO teamPublished · 8 min read

Facebook ads in India have no fixed price. You set the budget, and Meta's technical floor for most ad sets is only a few hundred rupees a day. What you actually pay per click or per lead comes out of an auction, so it depends on your city, industry, objective and ad. This guide gives the floor, the published cost ranges with their sources, how GST works and a way to set a monthly budget from the number of leads you need.

Meta's minimum daily budget in India

Meta's Marketing API documentation lists these minimum daily budgets for ad sets on the default "lowest cost" bid strategy (Meta Marketing API, ad set reference, checked Oct 2026):

Ad set is charged forMinimum per day (USD)Approx. in INR
Impressions$0.50₹48
Clicks, likes, video views$2.50₹242
Low-frequency actions (app installs, offer claims)$40₹3,869
  • India is not on Meta's list of 24 higher-cost countries, where the minimums double. The US, UK and Australia are on it.
  • Meta says the amounts are "for illustrative purposes only" and can change. Ads Manager shows the real floor for your account when you type a budget that is too low.
  • The rupee figures use the ₹96.73 per dollar rate that Aurelius Media used on 7 October 2026 (checked Oct 2026). Meta converts non-USD budgets when you create the ad set.

The floor tells you what Ads Manager will accept. It is too small to learn much from. Meta's guidance, as summarised by JumpFly (checked Oct 2026), is that an ad set leaves the learning phase after about 50 optimisation events in 7 days. At ₹242 a day, a lead campaign will rarely get there.

What Facebook ads cost per click, per 1,000 views and per lead

Meta does not publish average prices for India. Two kinds of third-party data exist, and both should be read as rough guides.

Agency estimates in rupees

upGrowth (an Indian agency; figures labelled as its own September 2026 estimates, checked Oct 2026) gives these ranges:

MetricRange (before GST)
CPM, per 1,000 impressions₹60 to ₹250
CPC, per click₹4 to ₹50
Cost per lead₹150 to ₹2,000
Cost per messaging conversation₹30 to ₹200

By industry, the same source estimates:

IndustryCPCCost per lead
Education₹5 to ₹20₹150 to ₹600
Health and wellness₹5 to ₹20₹150 to ₹800
Real estate₹10 to ₹40₹300 to ₹1,500
Finance and insurance₹12 to ₹50₹400 to ₹2,000

Platform data in dollars

Superads, a tool built on more than $3B of ad spend from its users' accounts (checked Oct 2026), reports:

  • An average monthly median CPC in India of about $0.10, against about $1.05 globally.
  • A swing from $0.209 in August 2025 to $0.025 in February 2026. Prices move a lot from month to month.

If you need one planning number, use the middle of your industry's range and replace it with your own figure after two weeks of spend. Your own cost per lead is the only one that counts. See CPM, CPC, CTR, CPL and ROAS explained if those terms are new.

Cost by objective

Meta charges for different events depending on the objective you choose:

  1. Awareness. Optimised for reach and impressions. Lowest CPM, but no leads to count.
  2. Traffic. Optimised for link clicks. Cheap clicks, many of which leave the page within seconds.
  3. Engagement (messages). Optimised for chats started, often on WhatsApp. upGrowth estimates ₹30 to ₹200 per conversation.
  4. Leads. Optimised for Instant Form submissions or qualified chats. Higher cost per result, but each result is a person with a name and number.
  5. Sales. Optimised for purchases on your site. Needs the Meta pixel or Conversions API set up first.

Judge every objective by cost per real enquiry.

Click-to-WhatsApp vs lead forms: which costs less?

No independent Indian study compares them head to head. What is published:

  • Meta's case study of Indian nutrition brand Nutryfit (checked Oct 2026) found 12% lower cost per lead when its Click-to-WhatsApp ads were optimised for leads instead of conversations, in an A/B test from 1 to 18 April 2025. That compares two WhatsApp setups, not WhatsApp against forms.
  • Instant forms take seconds to fill, so they usually bring more leads. Count how many of them pick up when you call back.
  • WhatsApp chats start a two-way conversation, which suits businesses where customers ask questions before they book.

Test both for two weeks with the same budget and compare cost per booked appointment or sale. For setup, see our Click-to-WhatsApp ads guide, which also covers the free entry point window. Meta says that window "may remain open for up to 7 days" (Meta pricing, checked Oct 2026).

GST on Facebook ads in India

  • Digital advertising services carry 18% GST (Taxaj, checked Oct 2026).
  • The 6% equalisation levy on online ads paid to foreign platforms was removed from 1 April 2025 through amendments to the Finance Bill 2025 (YourStory, checked Oct 2026).
  • How the 18% reaches you depends on which Meta entity bills you. If the invoice includes GST, you pay it to Meta. If it comes from an overseas entity with no Indian GST, a registered business pays it under reverse charge.
  • Add your GSTIN in Meta's billing settings so your invoices support an input tax credit claim. Meta's India GST help page covers the settings. Ask your CA which case applies to you.

For budgeting, assume 18% on top of every rupee of ad spend.

Worked example: set your monthly budget from leads

Start from the leads you need, not from a round number. This example uses assumed figures; replace them with yours.

StepExample (assumed)
Leads needed per month30
Expected cost per lead₹400 (inside upGrowth's health and wellness range)
Ad spend (30 × ₹400)₹12,000
GST at 18%₹2,160
Total monthly cost₹14,160
Daily budget (₹12,000 ÷ 30 days)₹400

30 leads a month is about 7 a week, far below the 50 the learning phase looks for, so Ads Manager will likely show "Learning limited". Judge such a campaign on cost per booked customer over a month, and don't edit it every day.

To protect yourself from surprise bills, set an account spending limit and a campaign cap before you launch. Our guide on how much to spend on Facebook ads and how to cap it covers why Meta can spend more than your daily budget on some days.

How to lower your cost per lead

  1. Target a tight radius around your shop or service area, not the whole state.
  2. Use a real photo or short video of your work instead of a stock image.
  3. Put the price or offer in the first line of the ad.
  4. Reply to WhatsApp leads within minutes. A slow reply wastes a lead you already paid for.
  5. Keep one ad set running long enough to judge, at least a week, before changing it.
  6. Send booked and won leads back to Meta through the Conversions API so it can find similar people.

How BeeCMO helps

Forager Bee plans Facebook and Instagram campaigns, including lead forms and Click-to-WhatsApp, and creates everything paused. You approve on WhatsApp before anything spends. Daily and monthly caps apply to every plan, and an hourly kill switch pauses all live campaigns if spend passes your cap. Meta bills your ad spend directly. Forager Bee starts at $39 a month (₹2,499 in India, plus 18% GST). See Forager Bee.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum budget for Facebook ads in India?

Meta's ad set reference lists $0.50 a day for impression-billed ad sets and $2.50 a day for clicks, roughly ₹48 and ₹242. Ads Manager shows the exact floor for your account. A useful test budget is higher than that.

How much does Facebook charge per click in India?

Meta publishes no average. One Indian agency estimates ₹4 to ₹50 per click, and Superads' data shows a median of about $0.10 in India. Your industry and targeting move the number a lot.

How much do Facebook ads cost per month in India?

It depends on the budget you set. Multiply the leads you need by your expected cost per lead, then add 18% GST. At an assumed ₹400 per lead, 30 leads would cost about ₹14,160 a month including GST.

Is GST charged on Facebook ads in India?

Yes, 18%. It either appears on Meta's invoice or, for an overseas invoice, a registered business pays it under reverse charge. Add your GSTIN in billing settings and check with your CA.

Are Facebook ads worth it for a small business in India?

They can be, if you can serve customers in the area you target and reply to enquiries quickly. Track cost per booked customer, not likes or clicks, for at least a month before deciding.
