Messenger Bee FAQ: WhatsApp, SMS and lead replies
Questions owners ask before they connect their WhatsApp number or forward their calls. For the full product, see Messenger Bee.
Do I use my own WhatsApp number?
Yes. You connect your number with Meta's Embedded Signup. The WhatsApp Business account stays in your Meta Business portfolio, and Meta bills you directly for the messages you send. BeeCMO connects through the official WhatsApp Cloud API; we don't resell messages.
Is the AI a chatbot? Doesn't Meta ban those?
Since 15 January 2026, Meta hasn't allowed general-purpose AI chatbots on the WhatsApp Business Platform. Our qualifier does one business task: it answers only from the facts, offers and FAQ you approved, asks your three to five qualifying questions, and hands over to a person when someone asks for a human, raises a complaint, or it isn't confident.
Can it reply on its own, or only draft?
You choose. It can reply directly, or save a draft you send with one tap. It stays quiet if a team member replied in the last 12 hours.
Who pays for WhatsApp messages?
Meta, billed to your own WhatsApp Business account at Meta's rate for your country. We add nothing and show an approximate cost before every broadcast. Work out a bill for India.
Can I send broadcasts?
On Pro, yes, and every broadcast needs your approval. You pick an audience by tags or activity and see the number of recipients and an approximate cost first. Template messages go only to contacts with a recorded opt-in, and STOP is honored right away.
Calls, SMS and other sources
Does missed-call text-back work in my country?
SMS replies and missed-call text-back work for US, Canadian and Australian numbers through Twilio. US business texting needs A2P 10DLC registration before messages flow. They aren't offered in India, where a DLT-registered provider would be needed. What missed calls cost you.
Does it take IndiaMART and Justdial enquiries?
Yes. Paste the CRM key from your paid IndiaMART seller account and new enquiries are pulled every 15 minutes. Justdial pushes leads to a private URL. Those buyers haven't opted in to WhatsApp, so no template goes to them until they message you first.
Which other lead sources work?
Facebook and Instagram lead ads, Instagram and Messenger DMs, your website form or widget, Click-to-WhatsApp ads, any CRM that can push to a URL, and CSV imports of up to 1,000 rows at a time. Duplicates from the same source are dropped.
Can it book appointments or call leads back?
Not yet. Calendar booking and voice callbacks aren't built. Hot leads trigger an alert to your phone so a person can call.
