Where to find your review link
Google gives you a review link and a QR code in your Business Profile: sign in, open Read reviews, then Get more reviews, and copy the link. Google says the QR code can only be downloaded from a computer browser. Our guide has screenshots and the details: how to get your Google review link and QR code.
Only have a Place ID? Find it with Google's Place ID Finder. Google notes that Place IDs can change over time, so test your link before printing.
Where to use it
- On a counter card, table tent or bill folder, as a QR code.
- In a WhatsApp or text message after the visit, as a link.
- On receipts, invoices and delivery slips.
- In your email signature.
The rules when you ask
Ask every customer the same way, and offer nothing in return. Google's policy bans asking only happy customers and bans incentives for reviews (Google Maps user contributed content policy). Is this really free?
Yes. The QR code is made in your browser. There's no sign-up, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Does a review link expire?
Google doesn't publish an expiry date for review links. Place IDs can change over time, so open your link now and then to check it still shows your review form.
Why does my link open Google Maps instead of the review form?
On some phones the link opens in the Google Maps app. If the review form doesn't appear straight away, the customer can tap Reviews, then Write a review.
